the sound of the tongue on the roof of the mouth
Cinemateca Capitólio
The Estalo at Cinemateca Capitólio proposes a game of images as a starting point for conversation: the first image is the sound form of language, and the second is the movement of the tongue's muscles to produce sounds.
The gesturality in the forms of life and entities that inhabit the planet produces sound matter uninterruptedly, which is why, for many human communities, there is no delimitation or hierarchy between sound, noise, and silence. Everything is a continuous manifestation of sound. Samson Young, through his practice, reinterprets moments and stories that are part of our daily experience within this sound continuum, intercepting some of its components to reveal many of the layers we do not perceive in their complexity and dimension.
