the crackling of the wooden floor in my house that comes with the summer heat

Instituto Ling

The home is usually the place where the body is most relaxed, where intimacy is built, and the feeling of protection and shelter exists. Simultaneously, in a time of intense inequalities, being in a safe place that one can call home is also a privilege in the face of exclusionary housing policies embedded in the heart of large cities.

What memories are evoked by turning the doorknob of a house? If we observed the nuances of a wall painted with lime, what could we read? Which zones of a city and its inhabitants are considered unimportant in the face of contemporary urbanism's neglect? In this Estalo, the experiences of dwelling are put on stage, questioning how individual memories are woven with other collective experiences about housing. The home becomes a device to conjecture about migration, architecture, the environment, and fundamental rights.
